Friday’s 10-race program at Keeneland will showcase sophomore fillies competing in the Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (G3), slated for a mile and a sixteenth of the turf. A full-field of 14 is scheduled to go postward featuring graded stakes winners TIN TYPE GAL, CHEEKABOO, and MY IMPRESSION in addition to the French raider AZALEA(Fr), who was only two and a quarter lengths off the win in the prestigious Prix de Diane Longines (Group 1) at Chantilly in her last start.
The Green Sheet gave out the winner of yesterday’s $100,000 Sycamore Stakes (G3), as Renown (GB)—who paid a healthy $20.80 to win—got a great ride from Maryland-based jockey Angel Cruz to prevail by nose over Bigger Picture, who, unfortunately, broke up all our exotic wagers.
With rain Thursday night and more still in the Lexington forecast on Friday morning, the main track figures to be on the muddy to drying-out side by the first race and the turf course will have some cut in the ground.
