Keeneland Day 14: October 26, 2016

Apologies for a lapse in content over the past few days…I hope to finish the meet at Keeneland with some pricy winners and move on to Churchill with some positive mojo.

During my time away, I saddled Snickerboxer to win the fourth race on the card on Sunday, October 23 as the 8-5 favorite. The win was a bit hollow, as he was claimed from me out of the race, but I sure was proud of his daylight win. He was a challenging horse to train but tried every time at the races—I’ll miss him.

The final race week of 2016 at Keeneland starts on Wednesday, and features an eight-race program highlighted by a trio of turf allowance affairs that appear as races two, six and eight on the card.

The second race—a third-tier allowance event going nine furlongs on the Haggin Turf Course—drew a compact field of seven horses, five of which are stakes winners.
