Sunday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs will complete the live racing week in Louisville, and the card is highlighted by the featured ninth race, a $62,000 “non-winners-of-two-other-than” allowance/optional claiming event for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going five furlongs on the Matt Winn turf course. The 2-1 favorite in the competitive, compact field of seven is the gray filly Lamontagne, a daughter of Congrats that has been first or second in eight-of-11 starts lifetime on the weeds. Other contenders include Equation, Anusara, and Modify.
The program also includes a $132,242 carryover in the Single Six Jackpot, which will be offered on races five through 10 on Sunday’s card.
The Green Sheet gave out a couple of of winners on Saturday’s program at Churchill—Bella Verde ($3.60) in the first race on the day and Halo Nation ($5.20) in the seventh. The Green Sheet also delivered on a $193.60 trifecta and a $268.30 superfecta in the seventh race on Saturday.
Going into day 16 of the 21 day Fall Meet at Churchill, The Green Sheet is 36-for-153, hitting at a 23 percent strike rate.
