The 12-race Turkey Day card at Churchill is highlighted by a pair of graded stakes races—the $200,000 Falls City Handicap (G2) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward to be contested at a mile and an eighth on the main track, and the $100,000 River City Handicap (G3) for three-year-olds and up going nine furlongs on the Matt Winn turf course.
The graded stakes winners Go Maggie Go and Include Betty, 8-5 and 9-5 on the morning line respectively, headline the Grade 2 Falls City, which drew a field of 11. The Grade 3 River City drew a full field of 14—with a pair of also-eligibles—highlighted by 5-2 morning line choice The Pizza Man, a multiple grade one stakes winner with $2.1 million in career earnings.
Furthermore, Thursday’s card has yet another carryover in the Single Six Jackpot, which has a pot of $147,507. The multi-race wager will be offered on races seven through 12 on the Thanksgiving Day program.
