The 21-day 2016 Fall Meet at Churchill will come to an end today, and is highlighted by a $173,888 mandatory payout in the Single 6 Jackpot, which is offered on races seven through 12 on Sunday’s card.
Additionally, the featured 10th race on the program—an $80,000 optional claiming/“three -other-than” allowance for three-year-olds and up going seven and a half furlongs on the main track—drew a compact field of seven, but only five horses will go in the gate with the early scratches of Bold Conquest and 2-1 morning line favorite Financial Modeling.
Iron Fist, a four-year-old Tapit colt dropping out of graded stakes company for trainer Steve Asmussen, figures to go postward favored.
The Green Sheet gave out a pair of winners on Saturday’s card—Guest Suite ($6) in the tenth race and McCraken in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2)—in addition to scoring on a $234 trifecta in the first race, and a $314.80 tri in the third on the program.
After 20 days of racing under the Twin Spires, The Green Sheet is 50-for-209, hitting at a 24 percent win clip.
