
Churchill Downs Full-Card Analysis: Wednesday, May 3, 2017
Churchill Downs continues live Derby Week racing on Wednesday, May 3rd with a 10-race program highlighted by the featured ninth race on the card, an entry-level allowance event for three-year-olds and upward going a flat mile on the Matt Winn turf course.
The race drew a full-field of 11 including 2-1 morning line favorite Speight Swiftly, a $500,000 Speightstown colt making his first start against winners, and 5-2 second-choice Kasseopia (GB), who owns a back-class edge and will wear blinkers for the first time for trainer Graham Motion.
The Green Sheet touted a salty five winners on Tuesday’s nine-race program at Churchill and had a $329 trifecta in the fifth race on the card. The Sheet is off to a good start at the young meet, winning seven of the first 20 races for a 35 percent strike rate; its’ top selection has finished in the money in 14 of the first 20 races of the meet to date, a 70 percent clip.
Post time at Churchill Downs for the first of 10 races on the Wednesday, May 3rd program is 12:45 P.M. Eastern. The card has a 20 cent Pick Six Jackpot carryover of $11,549 and a $1 Super High Five carryover of $16,229.
