Churchill Downs Full-Card Analysis: Thursday, May 18, 2017

The live racing week resumes at Churchill Downs with “Twilight Thursday” 2.0 on May 18th with an eight-race program highlighted by the featured fifth on the card, an $80,000 optional claiming, third-tier allowance affair for three-year-olds and upward to be contested at a mile and a sixteenth trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

Co-favored at 5-2 on the morning line in the contentious, compact field are Whitham Thoroughbreds LLC’s Bondurant, the older half-brother to graded stakes winner McCraken with an affinity for the Churchill lawn, and John C. Oxley’s Airoforce, a graded stakes winner on the main track and the turf course that is returning from an eight-month plus layoff in this spot.

The Green Sheet had one winner, a second and a third with its’ top selections on Sunday’s program in Louisville. 10 days into the meet, The Sheet is giving out FREE winners at a 20 percent clip with its’ top selection in each race finishing in the money 52 percent of time.

Post time at Churchill Downs for the first of eight races on the Thursday, May 18th “Twilight Thursday” program is 5:00 P.M. Eastern. The card offers a carryover of $16,641 in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot.

Be sure to check the site often for updates, as I will be giving away FREE analysis and selections for every race of the 2017 Churchill Downs Spring Meet.
