Churchill Downs Full-Card Analysis: Saturday, May 27, 2017
A pair of stakes races for the distaffers–one going long on the grass and the other short on dirt–will serve as co-feature races on the Saturday, May 27th program at Churchill Downs, as a field of eight fillies and mares will square off in the 12-furlong, $65,000 Keertana Stakes and eight will go postward in the 14th running of the Winning Colors Stakes (G3) at a six-furlong trip on the main track.
Calumet Farm’s Quiet Business has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite in the fifth edition of the Keertana Stakes by virtue of her win in the Bewitch (G3T) at a mile an a half trip on the turf at Keeneland in her last start on April 28.
Carl R. Moore Management, LLC’s fleet-of-foot filly Finley’sluckycharm will try to keep her perfect four-for-four record at Churchill Downs intact as the overwhelming 3-5 morning line favorite in the 2017 renewal of the Winning Colors Stakes (G3).
The Green Sheet had three winners, three seconds and a pair of thirds on Friday’s nine-race program in Louisville. 16 days into the meet, The Sheet is giving out FREE winners at a 26 percent clip with its’ top selection in each race finishing in the money 60 percent of time.
Post time for the first of 11 races on the Saturday, May 27th program at Churchill Downs is 12:45 P.M. Eastern. The card has a carryover of $8,816 in the $1 Super High 5.
