Churchill Downs Full-Card Analysis: Friday, June 2, 2017

The featured eighth race on Churchill Downs’s Friday, June 2 nine-race program is a $51,000 entry-level allowance race for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going a five-furlong trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course. The tepid 7-2 morning line favorite in the well-matched field is the Speightstown filly Fiesta, who is coming off a narrow loss in her turf debut in Louisville on May 12 for trainer Chris Hartman.

Additionally, a compact, albeit competitive, field of five has been assembled for Friday’s second race, a high-end optional claiming/second-tier allowance heat going a six and a half-furlong trip on the main track featuring the synthetic stakes winner Let It Ride Mom, the 5-2 morning line favorite for trainer Mark Casse.

The Green Sheet touted a pair of winners on Thursday’s eight-race program in Louisville highlighted by Hold Me Black’s ($12.20) open-length score in the sixth and gave out a $136 superfecta in the third race on the card. 20 days into the meet, The Sheet is giving out FREE winners at a 27 percent clip with its’ top selection in each race finishing in the money 61 percent of time.

Post time for the first of nine races on the Friday, June 2 program at Churchill Downs is 12:45 P.M. Eastern. The card has a carryover of $10,337 in the 20-cent Pick 6 Jackpot and a $10,909 carryover in the $1 Super High Five.
