The featured ninth race on Father’s Day at Churchill Downs is a wide-open, entry-level allowance event to be contested at a mile and a sixteenth trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.
At a lukewarm 4-1, Dixiana Farm’s Giada Vegas has been installed as the morning line favorite for trainer Mark Casse, lending credence to the depth of this field. The 9-2 second choice is Deborah V. Wilson’s Res Ispa, who is coming off a solid third-place effort at Churchill on May 26 for Ian Wilkes, who saddled three winners on last night’s card.
The Green Sheet gave out a pair of winners on Saturday’s program in Louisville and 30 days into the meet, The Sheet is hitting at a 26 percent strike rate; its’ top selection in each race has finished in the money 63 percent of time.
