Ellis Park Full-Card Analysis: Sunday, July 2, 2017
The Fourth of July extended opening weekend at Ellis Park rolls onward on Sunday, July 2 with a nine-race program on tap and a $41,000, one-mile entry-level allowance affair on the grass going as the featured eighth race on the program.
Allied Racing Stable, LLC’s American Cowgirl is the 3-1 morning line choice in the field of 12 fillies and mares, as the bay daughter of Cowboy Cal is coming of a respectable fourth-place effort on the weeds at Churchill Downs and has never been worse than second on grass at Ellis Park. She will break from post 11.
The Green Sheet had a pair of winners on Saturday’s nine-race program in Henderson and gave out a $224 trifecta in the fifth race on the card. However, on the day, The Sheet had a negative 34 percent return on investment (ROI)*, or a flat-bet loss of 69 cents for each two dollars wagered on its top selections.
One day into the nascent meet, The Sheet is winning at a 22 percent clip–its top selection in each race has finished in the money 56 percent of time.
