“Riders Up!”: Episode #7 (7-16-2017) with Sandy Hawley, Brian Lynch & Brendan Walsh
The Sunday, July 16 program at Ellis Park has a solid nine-races on the agenda with plenty of betting opportunities peppered throughout the card. Highlights include a pair of contentious maiden races, a competitive $40,000 optional claiming/”money since” allowance race on the main track, and a wide-open, entry-level allowance race going a mile and a sixteenth on the grass going as the featured eighth.
The Green Sheet gave out three winners on Saturday’s nine-race program at “The Pea Patch” in addition to nailing down a $119 trifecta in the third race on the card. On the day, however, The Sheet had a negative 47 percent return on investment (ROI)*, or a flat-bet loss of 96 cents for each two dollars wagered on its top selections.
Nine days into the meet, The Sheet is winning at a 31 percent clip–its top selection in each race has finished in the money 60 percent of time.
