Saratoga Selections By Frank Lyons: Thursday, July 27, 2017
The Green Sheet has expanded its handicapping coverage this summer, as Frank Lyons–Breeder’s Cup winning trainer and former on-air personality with Television Games Network (TVG)–has signed on to give his selections for the 2017 meet at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In addition to a multi-year stint as a host and racing analyst on TVG, Lyons saddled 1995 Breeder’s Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer. He also bought and campaigned Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Castledale. He’s currently a bloodstock agent and the host of a weekly radio show in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Thursday, July 27 program at Saratoga has 10 races slated highlighted by the $150,000 A.P. Smithwick Memorial Steeplechase Handicap (G1T) for four-year-olds and upward going about two miles and a sixteenth over hurdles. The card also has a supporting black type event on the flat–the $100,000 John Morrissey Stakes–for New York-breds three-years-old and up going six and half-furlongs on the main track.
Frankie doped out three winners and a $116 trifecta at Saratoga on Wednesday, July 26 and will be giving out his picks FREE of charge for the duration of the meet. Click HERE to see who he likes on Thursday!
