After a weather-induced abbreviated program on Sunday, August 6, live racing returns to the Tri-State area in full force on Friday, August 11 with a customary eight-race program on the docket at Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky.
Friday’s card offers a handful of good wagering opportunities beginning with the third race, a $41,000 entry-level allowance event going five and a half-furlongs on the turf, in addition to races six and seven, a pair of $40,000 maiden allowance affairs–one for two-year-olds and one for three-year-olds and up, respectively.
The Green Sheet gave out one winner on Sunday’s three-race program at Ellis and had a 5-2 shot disqualified from victory in the third and final heat of the day. 19 days into the summer stand at “The Pea Patch”, The Sheet is hitting at a 26 percent win clip–its top selection in each race has finished in the money 70 percent of time.
