Ellis Park Full-Card Analysis & Selections By John Gaver: Sunday, August 13, 2017
An excellent nine-race program–the best of the meet to date–has been assembled by the Ellis Park racing office for Sunday, August 13. The card is highlighted by a pair of competitive black-type events with full fields–the $50,000 Cliff Guilliams Handicap for three-year-olds and up going a mile and a sixteenth on the grass, and the $100,000 Groupie Doll Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going a flat mile trip on the main track.
The Green Sheet doped out two winners and a pair of trifectas–a $157 hit in the second race on the day and a cold $126 tri in the sixth–on Saturday’s nine-race program at Ellis. 21 days into the summer stand at “The Pea Patch”, The Sheet is hitting at a 27 percent win clip–its top selection in each race has finished in the money 69 percent of time.
