148th Travers Stakes (G1) Graded Line By The Green Sheet

The Green Sheet has expanded its handicapping coverage this summer, as Frank Lyons–Breeder’s Cup winning trainer and former on-air personality with Television Games Network (TVG)–has signed on to give his selections for the 2017 meet at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In addition to a multi-year stint as a host and racing analyst on TVG, Lyons saddled 1995 Breeder’s Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer. He also bought and campaigned Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Castledale. He’s currently a bloodstock agent and the host of a weekly radio show in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Thursday, August 24 program at Saratoga has 10 races in the offing including the $150,000 New York Turf Writers Handicap (G1T), a hurdle handicap for four-year-olds and upward going two miles and three-eighths on the turf, and the $100,000 Riskaverse Stakes for three-year-old fillies that have never won a stakes race at a mile or over to be contested at an eight-furlong trip on the inner turf course.

Frankie will be giving out his picks FREE of charge for the duration of Saratoga’s 2017 meet. Click HERE to see who he likes on Thursday!
