148th Travers Stakes (G1) Graded Line By The Green Sheet

The Green Sheet has expanded its handicapping coverage this summer, as Frank Lyons–Breeder’s Cup winning trainer and former on-air personality with Television Games Network (TVG)–has signed on to give his selections for the 2017 meet at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

In addition to a multi-year stint as a host and racing analyst on TVG, Lyons saddled 1995 Breeder’s Cup Sprint (G1) winner Desert Stormer. He also bought and campaigned Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Castledale. He’s currently a bloodstock agent and the host of a weekly radio show in Lexington, Kentucky.

Friday, August 25th is New York Showcase Day at Saratoga Race Course with an 11-race, all New York-bred program on tap including six stakes races–the $200,000 Fleet Indian Stakes, the $200,000 Funny Cide Stakes, the $150,000 Yaddo Stakes, the $200,000 Seeking the Ante Stakes, the $150,000 West Point Stakes Presented by Trustco Bank, and the $250,000 Albany Stakes–worth over $1 million in purse money.
