The 2017 race meet at Kentucky Downs in Franklin, Ky. rolls onward on Thursday, September 7 with a 10-race program on tap highlighted by the third running of the $150,000 Old Friends Stakes for three-year-olds and upward which have not won a stakes race in 2017 to be contested at a mile and 70 yard trip on the turf.

Thursday’s program also has a $2,254 carryover in the $1 Super High Five wager.

With over $8 million up for grabs at the meet–an average in excess of $1.68 million daily–the purses at Kentucky Downs are the best in the country and attract full, competitive fields with a plethora of wagering opportunities. Additionally, Kentucky Downs has the lowest overall takeout–the percent taken off the top of each dollar wagered before the winning bettors are paid–of any racetrack in the country.

In 2017, Kentucky Downs will host live racing on Thursday, September 7; Saturday, September 9; Sunday, September 10; and Thursday, September 14. Post time is 1:25 P.M. Central (2:25 P.M. Eastern) daily.
