After a one-day respite, live Thoroughbred racing resumes at Kentucky Downs in Franklin, Ky. on Saturday, September 9 with an excellent 10-race program on tap that includes four stakes races–the $350,000 Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes (G3T), the $350,000 Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint Stakes, the $400,000 Kentucky Downs Turf Sprint Stakes (G3T), and the $600,000 Calumet Farm Kentucky Turf Cup Stakes (G3T).

Saturday’s program also has a $5,608 carryover in the $1 Super High Five wager.

With over $8 million up for grabs at the meet–an average in excess of $1.68 million daily–the purses at Kentucky Downs are the best in the country and attract full, competitive fields with a plethora of wagering opportunities. Additionally, Kentucky Downs has the lowest overall takeout–the percent taken off the top of each dollar wagered before the winning bettors are paid–of any racetrack in the country.
