Kentucky Downs will close the curtain on its 2017 boutique, all-turf meet on Thursday, September 14 with a 10-race program highlighted by a pair of black-type affairs–the $250,000 Franklin-Simpson Stakes for three-year-olds going seven-furlongs, and the $350,000 Ramsey Farm Stakes, for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going one mile and five-sixteenths.

With over $8 million up for grabs at the meet–an average in excess of $1.68 million daily–the purses at Kentucky Downs are the best in the country and attract full, competitive fields with a plethora of wagering opportunities. Additionally, Kentucky Downs has the lowest overall takeout–the percent taken off the top of each dollar wagered before the winning bettors are paid–of any racetrack in the country.

The Green Sheet gave out a pair of winners on Sunday’s 10-race program at Kentucky Downs including Tyler U, victorious in the fifth on the card, who returned $13.20 to win.
