A 10-race program is on the agenda for Churchill Downs’ final live racing day of the week on Sunday, September 17. The card is highlighted by the featured ninth, a $100,000 optional claiming/second-tier allowance race with a purse of $55,000 for three-year-olds going six-furlongs on the main track.
The program also has a $9,087 carryover in the 20-cent Pick 6 Jackpot and a $3,964 carryover in the $1 Super High Five.
Churchill will host live Thoroughbred racing over three weekends in September and October through Sunday, October 1 with racing on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Post time is 12:45 P.M. (Eastern) with the exception of a pair of 5:00 P.M. “Twilight Thursday” programs and a 6:00 P.M. first post on Saturday, September 23.
The Green Sheet gave out a pair of winners on Saturday’s 11-race program at Churchill and doped out a $133 trifecta in the Locust Grove Stakes (G3). Two days into the nascent meet, The Sheet is hitting at a 29 percent strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 62 percent of the time.
For the meet to date, The Sheet has a positive 10 percent return on investment (ROI*), or a flat-bet profit of 19 cents for each two dollars wagered on its top selections.
