Churchill Downs Selections by John M. Gaver III: Thursday, September 28, 2017
An eight-race program is on tap for the final “Twilight Thursday” of the 2017 September Meet highlighted by the featured seventh race on the card–a $75,000 optional claiming/entry-level allowance race for two-year-old fillies going a flat mile trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.
Thursday’s program, which has a later than the norm 5:00 P.M. Eastern post time, also has a healthy seven-day, $40,207 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot, and a two-day, $3,535 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5.
Churchill will host live Thoroughbred racing over three weekends in September and October through Sunday, October 1 with racing on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Post time is 12:45 P.M. (Eastern) with the exception of this evening’s 5:00 P.M. “Twilight Thursday” program.
The Green Sheet touted a $112 trifecta in Sunday’s fourth race in Louisville and had a cold $134 superfecta and a $110 trifecta in the eighth race on the card. Seven days into Churchill’s 11-day September Meet, The Sheet is hitting at a 30 percent strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 57 percent of the time.

For the meet to date, The Sheet has a positive seven percent return on investment (ROI*), or a flat-bet profit of 14 cents for each two dollars wagered on its top selections.

*Return on investment is calculated by placing a hypothetical $2 win wager on all top selections and dividing the net profit by the total amount wagered.
