Churchill Downs Selections by John M. Gaver III: Saturday, November 18, 2017
The penultimate Saturday program of the 2017 Fall Meet at Churchill Downs will take place under windy and rainy conditions, but adverse weather will not stymie an 11-race program highlighted by a pair of black-type events– the 10th running of the $80,000 Bet On Sunshine Stakes for three-year-olds and upward going seven-furlongs on the main track, and the 44th renewal of the Cardinal Handicap (G3T) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for a nine-panel trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.
The program has a four-day, $25,088 carryover in the $1 Super High 5, in addition to a two-day, $14,746 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot.

The Green Sheet had a pair of winners on Friday’s program at Churchill and gave out a beefy $1,854 superfecta and a $1,137 trifecta in the second race on the card.
14 days day into the 2017 November stand in Louisville, The Sheet is hitting at a 23 percent strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 54 percent of the time.
