Gulfstream Park Selections by John M. Gaver III: Thursday, December 7, 2017

The first live racing week of the 2017-18 Championship Meeting at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla. steams ahead on Thursday, December 7 with a 10-race program on tap. The the featured ninth on the card is a $50,000 optional claiming/second-tier allowance affair for three-year-olds and up going seven-furlongs on the main track.

Additionally, the program has a three-day, $41,277 carryover in the 20-cent Rainbow 6 Jackpot (races 5-10), and a $64,486 carryover in the 50-cent late Pick 5 (races 6-10).

The Green Sheet gave out five winners on Wednesday’s 10-race program at Gulfstream and had a cold $139 superfecta for a one dollar wager in the seventh on the card. On the day, The Sheet had a positive 28 percent return on investment (ROI*), or a flat-bet profit of 56 cents for each two dollars wagered on its top selections.

Three days day into the 2017-18 Championship Meet in Hallandale Beach, The Sheet is hitting at a 29 percent strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 71 percent of the time.
