The first “Twilight Thursday” program of the 2018 Spring Meeting is on tap at Churchill Downs on Thursday, May 10. The eight-race program commences with a later than usual first post of 5:00 P.M. Eastern.

The featured seventh race on the program is a $62,500 optional claiming/second-tier allowance event going a one-turn mile trip on the main track. Hal J. and Patti Earnhardt’s Life’s Blessings, a gray Tapit filly out of  the Grade 1 winner Indian Blessing, has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite in the field of 11 for Kentucky Derby winning trainer Bob Baffert.

The program also has a lucrative $385,132 carryover in the Single 6 Jackpot (races 3-8) with a mandatory payout, however a single correct ticket will win the entire pool. The Pick-6 Jackpot has a minimum wager of 20-cents and a 15 percent takeout.

Steam gave out a pair of winners on Saturday’s Kentucky Derby program at Churchill Downs in addition to a $102 superfecta for a buck in the Humana Distaff (G1) and a $199 trifecta, also for a dollar, in the Longines Churchill Distaff Turf Mile (G2T). Six days into the 2018 Spring stand in Louisville, Steam is hitting at a 21 percent win clip; its top selections have finished in the money 53 percent of the time.
