Steam ChurchillThe second “Twilight Thursday” installment of the 2018 Spring Meeting at Churchill Downs will transpire on Thursday, May 17. The eight-race program has a later than normal first post of 5:00 P.M. Eastern.

The featured seventh race on the program is a $62,500 optional claiming/second-level allowance affair for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for a five and one half-furlong trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

Midwest Thoroughbreds, Inc.’s Gagaoveryou, a seven-year-old chestnut daughter of Zensational that is riding a three-race win streak for trainer Tom Amoss, is the 2-1 morning line favorite in a field of 11 that includes a pair of main track only entrants.

Additionally, the card has a lucrative $419,279 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 3-8)–a wager that has a 15 percent takeout–and a $5,931 carryover in the $1 Super High Five.

Steam gave out four winners on Sunday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs and, on the day, had a positive 47 percent return on investment (ROI*), or a flat-bet profit of 94 cents for each two dollars wagered on its top selections on the card. 10 days into the 2018 Spring stand in Louisville, Steam is hitting at a 27 percent win clip; its top selections have finished in the money 58 percent of the time.
