Steam Churchill“Twilight Thursday” version 3.0 of the 2018 Spring Meet at Churchill Downs kicks off the live Thoroughbred racing week in Louisville, Ky. on May 24. The customary eight-race program has a later than usual first post of 5:00 P.M. (Eastern).

The featured seventh race on the card is a $80,000 optional claiming/third-tier allowance event for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going seven-furlongs on the main track.

G. Watts Humphrey, Jr.’s Mines and Magic, winner of the 2016 Dogwood Stakes under the Twin Spires for trainer Victoria Oliver, is the 3-1 morning line choice in the field of eight.

Additionally, the card has a  $460,789 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 3-8), a wager that carries a 15 percent takeout rate.

Steam touted five winners on Sunday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs and, on the day, had a positive 131 percent return on investment (ROI*), or a flat-bet profit of $2.62 for each two dollars wagered on its top selections on the card. 14 days into the 2018 Spring Meet in Louisville, Steam is hitting at a 27 percent win clip; its top selections have finished in the money 62 percent of the time.
