Steam ChurchillA conventional nine-race Friday afternoon program is on tap at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. on May 25.

The featured eighth race on the card is a $55,500 first-level allowance heat for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going eight-furlongs on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

Robert E. Masterson’s Tamit (Ire), an Irish-bred daughter of Fastnet Rock (Aus), will make her four-year-old debut as the 3-1 morning line favorite for trainer Norm Casse in a full-field of 12 that also includes a pair of main track only entrants. Jockey Gabriel Saez will be in the irons.

Additionally, the card has a substantial $471,168 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 4-9), a wager that has a 15 percent takeout, and a $3,215 carryover in the $1 Super High-5.

Steam touted a $160 trifecta and a $570 superfecta–both for a $1 wager–in the sixth race on the May 24 “Twilight Thursday” program at Churchill Downs, and 15 days into the 2018 Spring Meet in Louisville, is hitting at a 25 percent win clip; its top selections have finished in the money 62 percent of the time.
