Steam ChurchillChurchill Downs will close out yet another week of live Thoroughbred racing in Louisville, Ky. on Sunday, June 17 with a 10-race card on the docket.

The featured ninth on the program is a $59,500 entry-level allowance heat for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting six and one half-furlongs on the main track.

Carl Gessler, Jr.’s Pray for Leslie, a three-year-old daughter of Bernardini who is coming off an impressive six-length win at first-asking at Churchill Downs back on May 10, is the tepid 3-1 morning line choice in the field of eight. Jockey Shaun Bridgmohan has the call for trainer Al Stall, Jr.

Steam gave out two winners on Saturday’s 11-race “Downs After Dark” program at Churchill Downs and 30 days into the 2018 spring stand in Louisville, is hitting at a 21 strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 58 percent of the time.
