Steam ChurchillChurchill Downs draws the proverbial curtain on the penultimate week of racing of the 2018 Spring Meet in Louisville, Ky. on Sunday, June 24 with a customary 10-race program on the agenda.

The featured fifth on the card is a $100,000 optional claiming/”non winners of three races lifetime” allowance event for three-year-olds slated for a flat mile trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

G. Watts Humphrey, Jr., Brian Klatsky, and Brendan O’Brien’s Smart Remark, a three-year-old son of First Defence who is stakes placed on the turf for trainer Victoria Oliver, is the 3-1 morning line favorite in the field of seven. Jockey Robby Albarado has the call.

Additionally, the card has a $20,700 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 5-10), and a $1,946 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5.

Steam gave out a pair of winners on Saturday’s 11-race program at Churchill Downs and 34 days into the 2018 spring stand in Louisville, is hitting at a 22 percent strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 60 percent of the time.
