The featured fifth on the card is a $62,500 optional claiming/second-level allowance heat for three-year-olds and upward slated for a nine-furlong trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

William C. Schettine’s Krampus, a four-year-old bay son of Shakespeare that has won three-of-seven starts for trainer Bill Mott, is the 2-1 morning line favorite in a field of eight that includes six main track only entrants.

Additionally, the card has a $60,163 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 4-9), and a $23,983 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5.

Steam had one winner on Thursday’s eight-race program at Churchill Downs and 37 days into the 2018 spring stand in Louisville, is hitting at a 22 percent strike rate; its top selections have finished in the money 60 percent of the time.
