steam_ellis_logoA weekend of live Thoroughbred racing continues in the Tri-State area with a nine-race program on tap at Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky.

The featured eighth on the card is a “money-since” allowance/$40,000 optional claiming test for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for a flat mile trip on the turf.

Sanford R. Robertson’s Lilt, a four-year-old bay daughter of Uncle Mo, is the tepid 9-2 morning line selection in a field that was scratched down to nine entrants. Jockey Joe Rocco, Jr. will be in the irons for trainer Brendan Walsh.

Four days into the 2018 summer stand at Ellis Park, Steam is hitting at an 21 percent win clip; its top selections have finished in the money 58 percent of the time. In 2017, Steam compiled a record of 256-68-49-52 in Henderson, with a top-pick win percentage of 27 percent and an in-the-money ratio of 66 percent.
