Water Main Break Forces Cancellation Of Sunday’s Ellis Park Card
As a result of a water main break that occurred before the last race on Saturday, August 25, Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky. was forced to cancel its nine-race program on Sunday, August 26.
Ellis’ public relations director, Jennie Rees, reported that there is no water on the front or back side of the facility, according to racing secretary Dan Bork.
Live racing is scheduled to resume at Ellis Park with an eight-race program on Friday, August 31. After a dark day on Saturday, September 1 to accommodate the opening day of Kentucky Downs, the “Pea Patch” closes out its 2018 meeting with live racing on Sunday, September 2 and Monday, September 3.

Steam touted two winners on Saturday’s nine-race program at Ellis Park and, as a result, 26 days into the 2018 stand at the “Pea Patch”, is giving out winners at a 27 percent clip. Additionally, its top selections have finished in the money 63 percent of the time.
