Three Grade One Stakes Highlight Star-Studded Card
FallStars weekend continues in earnest at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. on Saturday, October 6 with a monster, stakes-laden program with Breeder’s Cup implications aplenty.
The 11-race card features a trio of grade one events–the $1,000,000 Shadwell Turf Mile (G1T) for three-year-olds and upward going eight-furlongs on the Haggin Turf Course, the $500,000 Claiborne Breeder’s Futurity (G1) for two-year-olds slated for a eight and one half-furlong trip on the main track, and the $400,000 First Lady Stakes (G1T) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going a flat-mile trip on the grass.
Other supporting stakes on the docket include the $200,000 Woodford Stakes (G2T) for three-year-olds and up sprinting five and one half-furlongs on the turf, and the $250,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going six-furlongs on the main track.
