A mammoth 12-race program, replete with 11 stakes races, is on tap at Churchill Downs on Saturday, November 3 as Breeders’ Cup weekend rolls onward at the historic Louisville, Ky. racetrack.
Day two of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships is highlighted by the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) for three-year-olds and upward slated for a 10-furlong trip on the main track.
Hronis Racing, LLC’s Accelerate, who is currently riding a three-race win streak–all in grade one events–has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite in the full field of 14. Jockey Joel Rosario, who has been aboard the son of Lookin At Lucky in his past two starts, has the call again for trainer John Sadler.
Other Breeders’ Cup races on Saturday, November 3 include the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint (G1), the $1 million Turf Sprint (G1T), the $1 million Dirt Mile (G1), the $2 million Maker’s Mark Filly & Mare Turf (G1T), the $2 million Mile (G1T), the $2 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1), and the $4 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1T) Supporting black-type races on the program include the $200,000 Cherokee Run Stakes, and the $200,000 Chilukki Stakes (G2).
