10-Race Program Kicks Off Live Racing Week
A 10-race card is on the docket at Churchill Downs on Wednesday, November 7, as the Louisville, Ky. racetrack kicks off its customary five-day live racing week in Derby City.
The featured ninth race on the program is a $62,500 optional claiming, second-level allowance event for three-year-olds and upward slated for an eight and one half-furlong trip on the Matt Winn Turf Course.
GenStar Thoroughbreds and Ten Strike Racing’s Applicator, who is coming off a win versus similar company at Indiana Grand on October 3, is the 5-2 favorite in the field of 10. Florent Geroux will be aboard the bay son of Henrythenavigator for trainer Brad Cox.
Steam Has Three-Bagger On Sunday’s Card
Steam had three winners on Sunday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs and, consequently, six days into the 2018 fall stand, its top picks are hitting at a 27 percent strike rate and have finished in the money 60 percent of the time.
