Gulfstream Kicks Off Week On Boxing Day

An expansive 11-race “Boxing Day” program is on tap at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla. on Wednesday, December 26, a card that will kick off another week of live Thoroughbred racing at the South Florida racetrack.
The featured ninth race on the program is a $16,000 optional claiming/first-tier allowance affair for Florida-bred fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going eight-furlongs on the turf.
Daniel Feit’s Hera, a chestnut daughter of Kantharos, has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field that attracted eight entrants. Jockey Luis Saez has the call on the New York invader for trainer John Kimmel.
