A behemoth 12-race program is on the docket at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla. on Saturday, January 12. Post time for the first race is a earlier than normal 11:45 A.M. (Eastern).

The substantial card is highlighted by a pair of graded stakes races on the turf–the $100,000 Tropical Turf Stakes (G3T) for four-year-olds and upward slated for an eight-furlong trip, and the $150,000 Marshua’s River Stakes (G3T) for fillies and mares four-years-old and upward going eight and one half-furlongs.

Terry Hamilton’s venerable Heart to Heart, who has won five-of-nine starts on Gulfstream’s turf course, is the prohibitive 4-5 morning line favorite in the Tropical Turf Stakes (G3T). Jockey Julien Leparoux will be astride the eight-year-old son of English Channel for trainer Brian Lynch.

Lynch will also send out the 3-1 morning line choice–B T Signare Racing Venture and Madaket Stables, LLC’s La Signare (Fr)–in the Marshua’s River Stakes (G3T). The bay daughter of Siyouni (Fr) will face seven other rivals in the two-turn turf test; Jose Ortiz, Jr. will be in the irons.
