Maximus Mischief, Mihos Square Off In Holy Bull

An excellent 12-race program chock-full of three-year-old races is on tap at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla. on Saturday, February 2.
The expansive card features a three-pack of stakes races for the sophomores–the $150,000 Forward Gal Stakes (G3) going seven-furlongs on the main track, the $150,000 Swale Stakes (G3), also slated for a seven-panel trip on dirt, and the $350,000 Fasig-Tipton Holy Bull Stakes (G2), a mile and a sixteenth dirt test.
In the Forward Gal Stakes (G3), Klaravich Stables, Inc.’s Feeedback, who will be making her first start since August 12 for trainer Chad Brown, is the 6-5 morning line favorite in the field of nine; jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be in the Irons.
In the Swale Stakes (G3), 3-1 morning line favoritism was assigned to Call Paul, who is grade one stakes-placed for trainer Jason Servis. Irad Ortiz, Jr. will ride the bay son of Friesan Fire.
Finally, the Fasig-Tipton Holy Bull Stakes (G2) appears to be a two-horse race on paper between even-money morning line favorite Maximus Mischief and Mihos. The former is coming off an impressive win in the Remsen Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct last December, and the latter just won the Mucho Macho Man Stakes at Gulfstream on January 5. Jose Ortiz, Jr. will ride Maximus Mischief for trainer Robert “Butch” Reid; John Velazquez will be aboard Mihos for the first time for trainer Jimmy Jerkens.
