Four stakes races worth a combined total of  $850,000 in purse money is on tap at Keeneland Race Course on Saturday, April 13, as the live racing week steams ahead at the venerable Lexington, Ky. racetrack.

The quartet of black type events is headlined by the $350,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes (G1T), an eight and one half-furlong turf test for fillies and mares four-years-old and upward, and is supported by three other stakes–the $200,000 Ben Ali Stakes (G3) for four-year-olds and upward going nine-furlongs on the main track, the $100,000 Giant’s Causeway Stakes for fillies and mares three-years-old and up sprinting five and one half-furlongs on the turf, and the $200,000 Stonestreet Lexington Stakes (G3) for three-year-olds slated for a mile and one-sixteenth journey on the main track.

In the Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes (G1T), e Five Thoroughbreds’ Rushing Fall, who will try to keep her undefeated record on Keeneland’s Haggin Turf Course intact, is the 6-5 morning line favorite in the field of eight. The meet’s leading rider, Javier Castellano, has the call on the bay daughter of More Than Ready for trainer Chad Brown.

Three Wins Friday, 37% Win Clip At Spring Stand

kee_spring_logo_2019Steam gave out three winners on Friday’s 10-race program at Keeneland and, as a result, seven days into the 2019 Spring Meet in Central Kentucky, its top picks are winning at a 37 percent clip and have finished in the money 72 percent of the time.

Post time for the first of 11 races at Keeneland Race Course on Saturday, April 13 is 1:05 P.M. (Eastern). Additionally, there is a guaranteed pool of $300,000 Presented by TVG in the 50-cent All Stakes Pick 4 (races 7-10, 4:24 P.M. (Eastern) post), and a $80,269 carryover in the one dollar Pick 6 (races 6-11, 3:51 P.M. (Eastern) post.
