Nine Race Card Set For Military Appreciation Day

American-flag-animation-white-2018The live Thoroughbred racing week comes to a close on Sunday, April 14th at Keeneland–Military Day at the Races Presented by Marathon–with a customary nine-race program on the agenda at the venerable Central Kentucky racetrack.

All active duty, reserve, veterans, and military families receive free general admission to the racetrack and reserved grandstand seating with a military I.D., DD214, veteran I.D., or other form of Military I.D. at any pass gate.

Additionally, in honor of Month of the Military Child, Keeneland will have activities for children throughout the day.

The featured third race on the card is an $86,000 classified allowance event for four-year-olds and upward. Originally scheduled for the grass, the race has been taken off the turf and will be contested at a nine-furlong trip on the main track

Carl R. Moore Management, LLC’s Heavy Roller is the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field that was scratched down to just three entrants. Jockey Luis Saez will be astride the chestnut son of Malibu Moon for trainer Joe Sharp.

Three Wins Saturday, 36% Win Clip At The Meet

kee_spring_logo_2019Steam gave out three winners on Saturday’s 11-race program at Keeneland and, as a result, eight days into the 2019 Spring Meet in Central Kentucky, its top picks are winning at a 36 percent clip and have finished in the money 71 percent of the time.

Post time for the first of nine races at Keeneland Race Course on Sunday, April 14 is 1:05 P.M. (Eastern). Additionally, there is a $2,937 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5.
