Memorial Day weekend 2019 begins in earnest on Friday, May 24 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. with a nine-race program on the agenda at the historic racetrack.

The nominal feature on the card is a $80,000 optional claiming, “three other than” allowance affair for three-year-olds and upward slated for an eight and one half-furlong journey on the main track.

Kay Stillman’s Casino Star, a six-year-old son of Flatter, is the tepid 4-1 morning line favorite in a field that attracted 10 entrants. Jockey Edgar Morales will be astride the bay for trainer Tom Van Berg.

2 Winners, +19% ROI On “Twilight Thursday” Card

15 days into into the 2019 Spring Meet in South Louisville, Steam‘s top picks are winning at a 21 percent clip and have finished in the money 53 percent of the time.

Additionally, there is a $295,049 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot on Friday’s program, which begins in race four with a post time of 2:13 P.M. (Eastern), and a $9,707 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5 (9th race, 4:55 P.M. (Eastern) post).
