Two Stakes Headline Saturday’s Card In Louisville

Memorial Day weekend continues on Saturday, May 25 at Churchill Downs with an 11-race program featuring two black type events on tap at the venerable Louisville, Ky. racetrack.
The $100,000 Keertana Stakes, a 12-furlong turf marathon for three-year-olds and upward is the fourth race on the card, while the $100,000 Winning Colors Stakes (G3), a dirt sprint for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward, goes as the tenth on the day.
Juddmonte Farm’s Gaining (GB), a daughter of American Post (GB), is the definitive 4-5 morning line choice in the Keertana Stakes. Florent Geroux has the call for trainer Brad Cox.
In the Winning Colors Stakes (G3), which attracted a full-field of 12 entrants, G. Watts Humphrey, Jr.’s Awestruck, a gray Tapit mare, is the 3-1 morning line favorite. Jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr. rides for trainer Rusty Arnold.
