Three Stakes Anchor Closing Day Program

An 12-race program featuring three stakes races is on tap on Saturday, June 29 at Churchill Downs–closing day of the 2019 Spring Meeting in Louisville, Ky.

The card is highlighted by the $120,00 Kelly’s Landing Stakes, a seven-furlong affair for three-year-olds and upward, and a pair of six-furlong stakes for the juveniles–the $125,000 Debutante Stakes for the fillies and the $125,000 Bashford Manor Stakes (G3).

In the Kelly’s Landing Stakes, Harry T. Rosenblum and Robert V. LaPenta’s Uncontested is the 7-2 morning line choice; jockey Miguel Mena will be astride the five-year-old son of Tiz Wonderful for trainer Tom Amoss.

Three Chimneys Farm, LLC’s Magic Dance has been installed as the 8-5 morning line favorite in the Debutante Stakes. Jockey Ricardo Santana, Jr. has the call on the daughter of More Than Ready for Hall of Fame conditioner Steve Asmussen.

Finally, in the Bashford Manor Stakes (G3), Southern California invader Phantom Boss is the 9-5 morning line choice. Jockey Rafael Bejarano is in town for the riding assignment on the chestnut son of Shackleford for trainer Jorge Periban.

$327,613 Single 6 Carryover–Mandatory Payout!

Steam gave out one winner on Friday’s 11-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, heading into the final day of the 2019 Spring stand in South Louisville, its top selections are winning at a 23 percent clip and have finished in the money 55 percent of the time.

Additionally, there is a $327,613 carryover with a mandatory payout in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot on Saturday’s program (races 7-12, 3:50 P.M. (Eastern) post).
