Five Stakes On Star-Studded Saturday Program

The 2019 renewal of Fall Stars weekend–10 stakes races worth $3.95 million over a three-day span, nine with Breeder’s Cup “Win And You’re In” implications–continues at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. on Saturday, October 5 with a star-studded, stakes-laden program on tap at the historic Central Kentucky racetrack.

The 11-race card features a trio of grade one events–the $1,000,000 Shadwell Turf Mile (G1T) for three-year-olds and upward going eight-furlongs on the Haggin Turf Course, the $500,000 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) for two-year-olds slated for a eight and one half-furlong trip on the main track, and the $400,000 First Lady Stakes (G1T) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going a flat-mile trip on the grass.

Other supporting stakes on the docket include the $200,000 Woodford Stakes Presented by Keeneland Select (G2T) for three-year-olds and up sprinting five and one half-furlongs on the turf, and the $250,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward going six-furlongs on the main track.

Steam Touts Three Winners On Opening Day

Steam gave out three winners on Friday’s 10-race program at Keeneland and, as a result, has a 30 percent win clip one day into the nascent 17-day October stand in Lexington, Ky. Furthermore, Steam‘s top-pick selections have finished in the money 60 percent of the time at the tilt.

Post time for the first of 11 races on the Saturday, October 5 program at Keeneland is 1:05 P.M. (Eastern). Additionally, there is a 50-cent All-Stakes late Pick 5 with a $300,000 guaranteed pool (races 6-10, 3:54 P.M. (Eastern) post), an $11,061 carryover in the $1 Pick 6 (races 5-10, 3:20 P.M. (Eastern) post), and a $2,423 carryover in the $1 Super High-5.
