Tracksmith Tepid Fave In Commonwealth Turf

An 11-race program is on the agenda at Churchill Downs on Saturday, November 9, as the 2019 fall meeting at the venerable Louisville, Ky. racetrack continues.
The featured tenth race on the program is the $175,000 Commonwealth Turf Stakes (G3T) for three-year-olds going eight and one half-furlongs on the Matt Winn Turf Course.
Calumet Farm’s Tracksmith, second in the $125,000 Jefferson Cup Stakes under the Twin Spires on September 28, is the tepid 5-1 morning line choice in a field that attracted 12 entrants. Jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr. will be astride the bay son of Street Sense, who has annexed three-of-seven turf starts lifetime, for trainer Joe Sharp.
Steam Touts Three Winners On Friday’s Card
Steam touted three winners on Friday’s 10-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, has a 24 percent win clip nine days into the 2019 fall meet in South Louisville. Additionally, Steam‘s top-pick selections have finished in the money 58 percent of the time at the stand.
Furthermore, on Saturday’s card, there is a $20,312 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 6-11, 3:36 P.M. (Eastern) post), and a $1,574 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5 (race 11, 6:06 P.M. (Eastern) post).
Live racing will be conducted under the Twin Spires Wednesdays through Sundays through December 1 with a daily post time of 1:00 P.M. (Eastern). The lone exception is an 11:30 A.M. (Eastern) first post on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 28.
