Churchill Downs closes out yet another week of Thoroughbred racing action in Derby City on Sunday, May 31 with a 10-race program on the docket at the venerable Louisville, Ky. racetrack.

The featured ninth race on the card is a $62,500 optional claiming, second-level allowance event for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward slated for an eight and one half-furlong trip on the main track.

W.S. Farish’s Royal Flag, a winner of her past two starts by a combined total of 17 lengths, is the prohibitive 6-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted nine entrants.

Hall of Fame jockey Javier Castellano has the call on the chestnut daughter of Candy Ride (Arg) for trainer Chad Brown.

Six-Figure Carryover In Sunday’s Late Pick 5

Steam gave out one winner on Saturday’s 11-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, 10 days into the 2020 Spring Meet in Louisville, Ky., its top picks are winning at a 29 percent clip and have finished in the money 52 percent of the time.

Post time for the first of 10 races at Churchill Downs on Sunday, May 31 is 1:00 P.M. (Eastern). Additionally, there is a $149,234 carryover in the 20-cent Single 6 Jackpot (races 5-10, 3:04 P.M. (Eastern) post time), a $101,123 carryover in the late Pick 5 (races 6-10, 3:36 P.M. (Eastern) post time), and a $7,599 carryover in the $1 Super Hi-5 (10th race, 5:44 P.M. (Eastern) post time).
