A customary nine-race program is on the docket on Friday, June 19 at Churchill Downs, as the venerable Louisville, Ky. racetrack kicks off a weekend of live Thoroughbred racing action in Derby City.

The fourth race on the card–the nominal feature–is an $88,000 non-classified allowance heat for fillies and mares three-years-old and upward sprinting five and one half-furlongs on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

G. Watts Humphrey, Jr.’s Morticia, a multiple stakes-winning turf sprinter, is the 8-5 morning line favorite in a field that attracted eight entrants. Tyler Gaffalione will be astride the six-year-old bay daughter of Twirling Candy for trainer Rusty Arnold.
