Two Turf Stakes Anchor Saturday’s Program

An excellent 11-race program is on tap at Churchill Downs on Saturday, June 20 as a weekend of Thoroughbred racing action continues in Louisville, Ky.

The card is highlighted by a pair of stakes races on the grass–the $100,000 Audubon Stakes for three-year-olds slated for a nine-furlong trip on the weeds, and the $200,000 Wise Dan Stakes (G2T) for four-year-olds and upward going eight and one half-furlongs on the Matt Winn Turf Course.

In the Audubon Stakes, Three Diamonds Farm’s Field Pass, a stakes winner on Polytrack and on turf in 2020, is the 2-1 morning line favorite in a field that attracted eight entrants. Jockey Tyler Gaffalione will be astride the gray son of Lemon Drop Kid for trainer Mike Maker.

In the Wise Dan Stakes (G2T), Gaining Ground Racing, LLC’s Factor This, currently riding a two-race win streak in graded stakes, is the prohibitive 8-5 morning line choice in a full field of 11. Shaun Bridgmohan has the call on the five-year-old bay son of The Factor for trainer Brad Cox.

Top Picks Winning At 29% Clip At The Tilt

Steam gave out one winner on Friday’s nine-race program at Churchill Downs and, as a result, 21 days into the 2020 Spring Meeting in Louisville, Ky., its top picks are winning at a 29 percent clip and have finished in the money 55 percent of the time.
