Four Stakes Highlight Labor Day Card

Kentucky Downs jump starts its brief, albeit lucrative, six-day Runhappy meeting on Labor Day–Monday, September 7– in Franklin, Ky. with an 11-race, all turf program on the docket.
The card is highlighted by four stakes races–the $300,000 One Dreamer Stakes, the $750,000 Tourist Mile Stakes, the $500,000 More Than Ready Stakes, and the $500,000 Mint Juvenile Fillies Stakes.
Micheal M. Hui, Hooties Racing, LLC and WSS Racing, LLC’s Parlor, beaten just a nose for the win in the Maker’s Mark Mile (G1T) at Keeneland in his last start, is the tepid 5-1 morning line choice in the Tourist Mile Stakes-the program’s crown jewel. Jockey Florent Geroux will be astride the six-year-old son of Lonhro (Aus) for trainer Mike Maker.
16 Stakes In The Offing At 2020 Stand
Kentucky Downs will play host to 16 stakes races with $8.6 million in purse money, including five with Grade 3 status, at the 2020 Runhappy meet. The elite, all-turf meeting begins on Labor Day, September 7, and continues on September 9, 10, 12, 13, and 16. Post time is 12:10 P.M. (Central).
Racing will be conducted at Kentucky Downs spectator-free, in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the federal government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
